Introduction to WWBOTA Awards
WWBOTA is pleased to offer awards for activators, hunters and shortwave listeners. These WWBOTA awards are in addition to those awards available from each of the bunkers on the air national schemes.
Award Claims
WWBOTA awards claims are easy to do, your logs are not required! This awards scheme is based on trust and has been made as straightforward as possible. Simply email awards@wwbota.org with your claim. In your claim please include you callsign, the award(s) and levels you are claiming including a summary of the points you have earned.
New WWBOTA Awards from 1st October 2024
Duration
The new WWBOTA awards are only valid for QSO on or after 1st October 2024.
Hunter's/SWL's WWBOTA Lifetime Award
- Work bunkers outside the country of the hunter, e.g. if you are a Belgian hunter then Belgian bunkers do not count for this Award but QSO with UK bunkers do.
- Each bunker may only be claimed once in a lifetime.
- In this case of multi-bunker activations, one point may be claimed for each bunker, e.g. if an ON hunter works a UK station activating B/G-0457 AND B/G-0458 at the same time then two points can be claimed.
- One point per bunker.
Initial levels:
- Bronze 100
- Silver 250
- Gold 500

Activator's Bunker to Bunker (B2B) WWBOTA Lifetime Award

This award is gained for working Bunker to Bunker QSO with bunkers in another counry, e.g. a QSO between a bunker in UKBOTA and UKBOTA does not count, but a bunker to bunker UKBOTA to OKBOTA does count.

Where more than one bunker is activated, at the same time, in either side of the B2B QSO, then all combinations score. If a UK activation is from 2 bunkers at the same time, and a Belgian activation is from 5 bunkers at the same time, then a total of 10 points are score by each activator.

Each bunker to bunker combination can only be claimed once in a lifetime.

WWBOTA UK/ON/OK Awards
This new award is to welcome the Czech Republic Bunkers on the Air scheme (OKBOTA) into the Worldwide Bunkers on the Air (WWBOTA) family.
These UK/ON/OK awards will run from 3 Aug (to coincide with the launch of OKBOTA) until the end of September 2024. The award may be extended after this date. QSOs prior to 3 Aug 2024 are not eligible for these awards.
Note: The scores required for each tier have been alightly adjusted.
WWBOTA HUNTER: UK/ON/OK AWARD
This award is presented to hunters and shortwave listeners for working stations in each of the 3 partner nations. The requirements shown are the number of bunkers required in EACH of UK and Belgium and Czech Republic, e.g. 3 UK, 3 Belgian Bunkers and 3 Czech Republic for Bronze. For this award, QSOs with the same bunker on different days and/or bands will count as an additional QSO. Additional modes on the same band and day do not count as an additional QSO.
Bronze = 3 bunker QSO with each of UK/ON/OK (=total 9)
Silver = 6 bunker QSO with each of UK/ON/OK (=total 18)
Gold = 10 bunker QSO with each of UK/ON/OK (=total 30)
Platinum = 20 bunker QSO with each of UK/ON/OK (=total 60)
Sapphire = 30 bunker QSO with each of UK/ON/OK (=total 90)
Diamond = 50 bunker QSO with each of UK/ON/OK (=total 150)
WWBOTA ACTIVATOR: B2B UK/ON/OK AWARD
This award is available to activators in all 3 partner nations. It is gained by working ‘bunker to bunker’ (B2B) with stations in the home nation and other partner nations.
For this award, QSOs between the same bunkers, on different days and/or bands, will count as an additional B2B QSO. Additional modes on the same band and day do not count as an additional QSO.
Bronze = 2 B2B QSO x 3 countries (UK/ON/OK) (=6 total bunkers)
Silver = 3 B2B QSO x 3 countries (UK/ON/OK) (=9 total bunkers)
Gold = 8 B2B QSO x 3 countries (UK/ON/OK) (=24 total bunkers)
Platinum = 15 B2B QSO x 3 countries (UK/ON/OK) (=45 total bunkers)
Sapphire = 25 B2B QSO x 3 countries (UK/ON/OK) (=75 total bunkers)
Diamond = 40 B2B QSO x 3 countries (UK/ON/OK) (=120 total bunkers)
