ACTIVATIONS HEAT MAP DEMONSTRATION

This is a technology demonstration of the kind of mapping we will be making available in BunkerBase 2.0 (BB2). BB2 is a major overhaul of BunkerBase both in the ‘engine room’ and in the user interface.

This heat map is based on the data held in bunkerbase.org up to 20/6/2025 and the data set will not be updated until launched as part of BB2. There will be a number of activations not shown on this map, the most likely cause being that the activator did not make a record of their activation on BunkerBase. The map query does NOT search hunter records and try to determine where an activation probably happened!

Top left shows a summary of what is held in BunkerBase: Bunkers activated (including duplicates), total bunker QSOs, total B2B (bunker to bunker QSO).

Bottom left is the key – blue pins for activated, red star for no recorded activation on BunkerBase.

Top right– toggle switches for full screen, show/remove ATNO layer and switch between map and satellite imagery. There is a also a bunker search bar (only shows when the ATNO layer is on, simply enter a UKBOTA reference (in full) and the map will centre on that reference).
